The European Commission encourages and recognizes the progress research institutions have made in aligning their human resources policies with the principles set out in the European Charter for Researchers (the Charter), the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (the Code) and the related Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (the Strategy) by granting the HR Excellence in Research Award. The institutions that have been given this award have the right to use the HR Excellence in Research icon, which enhances their international prestige and increases their recognisability.
On 28.09.2020 the Technical University - Sofia was awarded the right to use the HR Excellence in Research logo. That right is to be endorsed again in 2 years when there will be an assessment of the progress in the implementation of the Strategy and the Action plan of TU-Sofia for further affirmation of the principles set out in the Charter and the Code.
The European Commission's award is public recognition of the long-standing and consistent policy of TU-Sofia to provide and maintain a favourable working environment, which stimulates research and development activities and the career development of researchers, observing the principles set out in the Charter and the Code.
The Technical University – Sofia belongs to a select group of four Bulgarian organizations, which have been given the honour (over a period of 10 years since the European Commission started granting the award) to use the HR Excellence in Research icon. The other recognized organizations from our country are Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” (2012), the “ Institute for Population and Human Studies” of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (2016) and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (2019).
