Stiff-Person Syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease in which people suffer from stiffness, anxiety and pain. It is associated with autoantibodies that disrupt the function of inhibitory neurotransmitters. The severity of the symptoms is very variable, so that the disease is well suited to look for resilience factors. In this project, neurobiological, psychological and immunological parameters will be examined for their significance in terms of the severity of symptoms and resilience. The results will allow far-reaching conclusions about human inhibitory neurotransmitter systems.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, independently working and team-able doctoral candidate (Master degree in Neurosciences, Biology, Biomedicine or similar) with a strong interest in neuroscience to complement our teams.
