The main tasks of the PhD will be to establish rectifying junctions using magnetron sputtering, and investigate junctions and defects using methods such as IV (current – voltage), CV (capacitance – voltage), PL (photoluminescence), DLTS (deep level transient spectroscopy), TAS (thermal admittance spectroscopy) and TDH (temperature dependent Hall). In addition, the PhD will model the tandem structure using SCAPS-1D, Quokka or SILVACO, to aid the optimization of the solar cell. There may be possibilities for a stay abroad with our collaborators in Sweden, Portugal or Australia.
