Department of Politics and International Relations in association with All Souls College, Oxford
The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint an outstanding scholar and teacher to the Chichele Professorship of Social and Political Theory. The Chichele Chair was instituted in 1944. The appointment will be held in the Department of Politics and International Relations and in conjunction with a Professorial Fellowship at All Souls College.
The successful applicant will be a scholar of international distinction with an outstanding record of research achievements in the academic field of contemporary and/or historical political theory. S/he will be able to contribute to the Department’s research culture and output, taking a leading role in raising the Department’s research profile and generating income. S/he will also be an excellent teacher and supervisor of doctoral and master students and will contribute effectively to the Department’s programme of research training for graduate students.
Start date: January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 1 May 2019.
