A job is being opened to cover 1 Position of Bioinformatician to support the research of INSTITUT D’INVESTIGACIONS BIOMÈDIQUES AUGUST PI I SUNYER (IDIBAPS) at the research project “Early detection and intervention: Understanding the mechanisms of transformation and hidden resistance of incurable haematological malignancies” Grant Agreement Number: AECC_AA17_SUBERO, funded by FUNDACIÓN CIENTIFICA ASOCIACIÓN  ESPAÑOLA CONTRA EL CANCER, with temporary contract. 

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Required Education Level: Any Degree in science.
  • Required Specialty: Master’s degree in bioinformatics with sound experience in computational biology is.
  • Experience Required:
    • Highly interested and motivated in the biomedical field.
    • Broad experience in genomic data analysis.
    • Extensive knowledge in R and Python.
  • Desirable skills:
    • Experience in ultrasequencing and microarrays data analysis.
    • Experience in biostatistics.
    • Extensive knowledge of bioinformatic tools.
    • Independent and motivated person.
    • Team oriented person with good written and verbal communication skills, experience with working in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Required Languages: Good level of English.

Job description / Tasks to be developed:

 

The candidate will work in research projects focused on analysing the importance of genetics and epigenetics for the characterization of hematological malignancies. Main candidate’s role will be the computational analysis of data derived from several ultrasequencing platforms, including methylome sequencing, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq and ATAC-seq. Appointed person will also be required to develop new tools for the integrative analysis of clinical and omics data.

A scientific background is a strong merit. Personal suitability is an important criterion.

Benefits

Annual gross remuneration inherent to the job offer object of this call will be fixed on the basis of the experience provided and the skills of the candidates.
