Sciences Po

Sciences Po is an international research university, both selective and open onto the world, ranking among the finest institutions in the fields of humanities and social sciences.

Bringing together over two hundred researchers, Sciences Po’s research centres generate new approaches and new knowledge in law, economics, history, political science and sociology.

Six units are associated with France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) as “joint research units” (UMR in French) and four units are recognized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as “host teams” (EA in French).

The Center for Socio-Political Data - CDSP

The CDSP (CNRS UMS 828) provides documented and scientifically validated socio-political data for research by archiving, disseminating, and contributing to international survey programs. It also supports training in data collection and analysis.

In the context of the SSHOC project starting January 1st 2019, CDSP is hiring a web developer for a 31 months contract. More specifically, the successful candidate will be joining our Software Projects team to work on the design and implementation of a Sample Management System: an application capable of managing an international set of respondent panels to which web-based research surveys are periodically delivered. The team is coordinated by a project manager affiliated to the CNRS, and presently counts 4 web developers and a system administrator. Our toolbelt of choice, integrated in a GNU/Linux working environment, consists of Python for the backend (Django foundation, spiced-up with Celery and Tornado) and JavaScript at front (VueJS taking momentum). All source code is versioned with Git, and our workflows are built around GitLab with increasing dominance of continuous integration and Docker containers for deployment. We care very much about maintaining a cheerful and healthy daily atmosphere, where polyvalence, learning and sharing are always encouraged.
